World War IIDS Skrim
SS Skrim was on a journey in convoy from Oban to Sydney N.S. in ballast. The convoy was split up in the middle of a storm with high seas. Skrim disappeared and no one heard anything from the ship. According to German sources, Skrim was torpedoed on December 6th 1940 by the uboat U-43 in the position 53N, 21W, and sunk within 63 seconds. The entire crew of 21 Norwegians, one Dane and a Swede perished in the sinking.
