World War IDS Tore Jarl
DS Tore Jarl was torpedoed by the German U-boat UC-49 on May 7, 1915. The ship was en route from Newcastle to Trondheim carrying coal, mail, and 27 passengers. One of the passengers, Olaf Johansen Berglund (born in 1849, originally from Sweden, residing in Råel near Tønsberg), lost his life in the shipwreck.
