World War IDS Nereus
DS Nereus was struck by a mine on December 10, 1915, by a mine laid by the German U-boat UC-3 near the North Skywash buoy. The ship was en route from Blyth to Cowes, Isle of Wight, carrying coal. One person lost his life in the shipwreck. The survivors were later brought to Yarmouth. (Source: Sjøhistorie.no)
