World War IDS Leander
DS Leander was torpedoed by the German U-boat UB-57 on October 20, 1917, near Flamborough Head. The ship was en route from West Hartlepool to Savona, carrying a cargo of coal. One person lost his life in the shipwreck. (Source: Sjøhistorie.no)
