World War IDS Karen
DS Karen was torpedoed by the German U-boat UC-53 on December 13, 1917, south of Cape Anzio in the Mediterranean Sea. The ship was en route from St. Johns to Naples, carrying a cargo of dried fish. One person lost his life in the shipwreck. (Source: Sjøhistorie.no)
