World War IIMK Osvald

MK Osvald sank on March 2, 1942, in rough weather when the vessel hit an underwater reef in Mjøsund. The fishing boat was en route from Finnlandsnes to Sjøvegan with supplies for the German Heeres-Küsten-Artillerie-Abteilung 500 (Artillery Group Senja). On board were two Norwegian crew members and four German soldiers. Both Norwegians and one German soldier lost their lives in the shipwreck. The wreck was later salvaged and condemned.
