World War IIMT Vardaas

MT Vardaas was torpedoed on August 30, 1942, by the German U-boat U-564 near Tobago. The ship was en route from Cape Town to Trinidad in ballast. Fortunately, the entire crew survived the sinking. The partially floating wreck was later finally sunk on August 31 by a British warship.
