World War IISS Star of Suez

The Egyptian SS Star of Suez was torpedoed on December 15, 1942, by the German U-boat U-159. The ship was en route from New York, Trinidad, and Cape Town to Suez carrying military equipment. Two people perished, and 40 were rescued.
