World War IISS Regent
The Latvian SS Regent was torpedoed on June 14, 1942, by the German U-boat U-504 in the West Indies. The vessel was en route from Baltimore to Norfolk with war supplies. Eleven people lost their lives in the sinking, while fourteen were rescued.
