World War IIDS Aase

The Danish SS Aase was torpedoed on February 15, 1940, by the German U-boat U-37. The vessel was en route from Valencia to Bristol with fruit. Fifteen members of the crew perished in the torpedo attack, and one was rescued. A Norwegian was among the casualties.
