World War IISS Scapa Flow

The Panamanian-registered SS Scapa Flow was torpedoed on 14 November 1942 by the German U-boat U-134. The vessel was en route from Takoradi via West African ports, Freetown, Trinidad, and St. Thomas to Philadelphia. Thirty-three lives were lost in the sinking, while twenty-seven persons were rescued.
