World War IISS O. A. Brodin

The Swedish SS O.A. Brodin was torpedoed on 17 July 1940 by the German U-boat U-57 off the Orkney Islands. The vessel was en route from Burlington, Newfoundland, to Ridman Dock carrying timber. Three persons, including one Norwegian, lost their lives in the sinking, while twenty-one were rescued.
