World War IISS Montana

The Panamanian-registered SS Montana was torpedoed on 11 September 1941 by the German U-boat U-105 northeast of Cape Farwell. The vessel was en route from Wilmington to Reykjavik, carrying timber. All 26 persons aboard perished in the sinking, including 5 Norwegians.
