World War IISS Fairfield City

The American TS Fairfield City was torpedoed by German aircraft off North Cape on 5 July 1942. The vessel was en route from Hvalfjord to Murmansk, carrying war materials. Eight lives were lost in the sinking, including one Norwegian, while thirty-four persons were rescued.
