World War IIDS H. J. Kyvig
The DS H.J. Kyvig was operating in Norwegian coastal waters at the outbreak of the war. On 26 October 1940, while en route from Ballangen to Drammen, the ship was caught in an air battle between British and German aircraft. H.J. Kyvig was attacked and sank near Geita Lighthouse in Sunnfjord. Five lives were lost in the sinking.
