World War IIMS Arna
The MS Arna operated along the Norwegian coast during the war. On 27 September 1943, the vessel was attacked and damaged by Allied aircraft off Borkum Roads. Later, on 23 November, the ship suffered severe damage when a bomb detonated in the engine room while it was moored at the Nyland shipyard in Oslo. The sabotage had been carried out by the communist Pelle Group. After the war, the vessel was repaired and remained in service until it was lost off Alexandria in 1964.
