World War IIDS Solviken

The DS Solviken drifted into a minefield in Narvik harbour on Christmas night 1942, sustaining some damage and causing several injuries. One man was killed.

25 May 1944, the vessel was sunk by an aerial torpedo during a Soviet air raid east of Nordkyn, while en route from Fredrikstad to Kirkenes. Two men lost their lives in this sinking.
