World War IIDS Topaz
The DS Topaz was en route to Sagvåg with a cargo of dynamite when it was attacked by British aircraft on 14 December 1941 off Bleivik, north of Haugesund. The aircraft scored a direct hit on the vessel, causing the cargo to explode. The entire crew of six perished in the sinking. (Source: Haugesunds Avis, 16 Dec. 1941)
