World War IIDS Tempo
The DS Tempo was attacked by German aircraft on 3 February 1940 off Longstone Lighthouse on the east coast of England. The vessel was en route from Oslo to Hull with a cargo of wood pulp. Survivors later reported that the German aircraft fired upon the lifeboats after they had been launched. Of the 14 crew members, five lost their lives.
