World War IIMS Vindafjord
The Norwegian MS Vindafjord was a local service vessel operating between Stavanger and Kvitsøy. On 28 November 1941, the ship was strafed and bombed by Allied aircraft in Skudefjorden, southeast of Karmøy. The vessel sank within two minutes. Seven crew members were lost, along with 29 Norwegian passengers and two Germans. Thirty-five people were rescued from the sea by the passenger vessel Marsteinen of Åkrehamn.
