World War IIDS Vaga
The Norwegian DS Vaga was en route to Copenhagen in ballast when, on 13 January 1945, the vessel was attacked by Allied aircraft seven nautical miles off Homborsund Lighthouse. The attack occurred at night, but the aircraft were equipped with radar and homed in on the ship. They dropped flares that lit up the night like day and sank Vaga using torpedoes. Five men were lost in the sinking.
