World War IISS Gwalia

The Swedish SS Gwalia was torpedoed on 2 December 1940 by the German U-boat U-37, 200 nautical miles west of Lisbon. The vessel was en route from Cardiff to Lisbon. Sixteen of the crew, including four Norwegians, perished in the sinking. Four men survived the disaster.
