World War IIMS Segovia
The MS Segovia was torpedoed on 22 January 1940 by the German U-boat U-55. The vessel was en route from Portugal to Norway, carrying a cargo of wine, oil, almonds, and cork. The last communication from the ship was a radio message on 20 January 1940 when it passed Land’s End. The ship had a crew of 22 and one passenger.
