World War IIDS Hvoslef
On the 11th of March 1942, the SS Hvoslef was torpedoed by the German uboat U-94 , 2 nautical miles east of Fenwicks Island on the brink of the mouth of Delaware. Four Norwegians and two Swedes were killed. The remaining crew, 14 men, kept themselves afloat in a destroyed lifeboat until they were saved 14 hours later.
