World War IIAxel Koinberg

Axel Koinberg belonged to MS Herstein which was sunk by Japanese aircraft in Rabaul,New Britain. The crew was captured and sent aboard the japanese SS Montevideo Maru. Koinberg perished on July 1, 1942 when the japanese ship was sunk in the Pacific. None of the allied 1054 prisoners survived the sinking.
