World War IIJames Tynan

James Tynan was on M/S Herstein which was attacked by Japanese aircraft in Rabaul, New Britan in 1942. The crew was later captured and sent aboard in the the Japanese ship SS. Montevideo Maru. Tynan was killed on July, 1 1942 when the ship was sunk in the Pacific Ocean by allied forces. None of the 1054 prisoners survived the sinking.
