World War IMS Castor II
MS Castor II departed from Sunderland on March 9, 1919, loaded with coal and bound for Porsgrunn. On March 11, the ship was struck by a mine in the North Sea, and the entire crew of 8 lost their lives. One of the deceased was later found aboard a drifting lifeboat in the North Sea, a few days after the incident.
