World War IIDS Arcturus (the home fleet)
The Norwegian DS Arcturus was attacked by Allied aircraft off Stad in November 1943. The vessel sustained severe damage in the air raid but remained afloat. It was later taken in tow by a German vessel bound for Ålesund. During the tow, on 22 November, Arcturus was torpedoed by the Norwegian U-boat Ula. Nine people were lost in the sinking.
