World War IIDS Asgerd

The Norwegian DS Asgerd was sunk by a German Fw 200 Condor aircraft from Kampfgeschwader 40 approximately 195 nautical miles northwest of Malin Head, Northern Ireland. The vessel had originally been sailing in convoy from Methil to Sydney but had become separated from the convoy. All 17 crew members were lost in the sinking.
