World War IDS Barbro
DS Barbro was torpedoed on October 14, 1917, by the German U-boat UC-48 off Ile de Batz. The ship was en route from Newcastle to Torre Annunziata with a cargo of coal. Tragically, 2 persons lost their lives in the sinking. (Source: Sjøhistorie.no)
