World War IIDS Bill
DS Bill was torpedoed on the 29th of July 1942, just outside of Venezuela by the German uboat U-155. The ship was on a voyage from New York to Brazil. Everyone aboard managed to board the life boats and get to land. The Captain Christian Hartvig Evensen was taken as a prisoner by the German uboat and brought to France where he later died in a Prisoner-of-war hospital in Rennes.
