World War IDS Bjerkø

DS Bjerkø was sunk on July 5, 1917, by the German U-boat UB-18 near Triogoz lighthouse. The ship was en route from Melilla in Spanish Morocco to West Hartlepool with a cargo of iron ore. Tragically, 16 persons lost their lives in the sinking. (Source: Sjøhistorie.no)
