World War IDS Blaatind
DS Blaatind was sunk by artillery fire on April 22, 1917, by the German U-boat U-33. The ship was en route between Giglio and Argentario in the Mediterranean Sea, carrying a cargo of coal. Tragically, 2 persons lost their lives and 13 were wounded in the sinking. Later, a British steamship rescued the survivors. (Sources: Sjøhistorie.no and Med norsk skib i verdenskrigen)
