World War IIDS Brand IV

The DS Brand IV was used as a hospital ship when the war broke out in Norway. The vessel arrived in Ålesund with 50 wounded and had just disembarked them when it came under aerial bombardment on 29 April 1940. One crew member was killed, along with five members of the medical personnel. The ship remained in the home fleet for the rest of the war.
