World War IIDS Breivik

The DS Breivik was en route on 25 February 1945 from Brevik into Sognefjorden, heavily loaded with deck cargo and towing two barges in rough weather. Near Balholm, the vessel encountered a strong wind, causing the tow to shift across its course, which resulted in the ship being pulled around and sinking immediately. The entire crew of five perished in the sinking.
