World War IDS Brode
DS Brode was torpedoed on March 19, 1917, by the German U-boat UC-36 near Armen Island. The ship was en route from Cardiff to Gibraltar carrying a cargo of coal. One person lost his life in the sinking. (Source: Sjøhistorie.no)
