World War IIDS Brott
The DS Brott was attacked by German aircraft in the North Sea on 1 March 1940. The vessel was damaged in the attack, and seven men lost their lives, with several being killed in the lifeboats under fire from the aircraft. Despite the damage, the crew managed to maneuver the ship to safety.
In June 1940, Brott was interned by Vichy France in Safi, Morocco. The vessel was later put into French service and subsequently transferred to German authorities. On 13 May 1943, while under the German flag, the ship was sunk in the Bizerte Channel.
