World War IIDS Deneb
The Norwegian DS Deneb was docked in Harstad on 20 May 1940 when the vessel was attacked by German aircraft. Deneb was carrying 200 tons of aviation fuel in cans for the British, who were stationed in Skånland at the time. The ship caught fire, and two crew members were killed. Notably, the two men who perished were previously survivors of the sinking of the Cato B. from Farsund in Narvik harbour on 10 April 1940.
