World War IDS Dicto
DS Dicto was sunk by artillery fire from the German U-boat UB-39 on April 5, 1917, off Armen Rock. The ship was en route from Aquilas to Maryport, carrying a cargo of iron ore. Dicto was originally part of a convoy but fell behind when the ship was sunk. One person lost his life in the shipwreck. (Source: Sjøhistorie.no)
