World War IIDS Dione
The DS Dione was bombed by Allied aircraft on 8 October 1941 while stationed in Salten. The ship sustained damage during the attack and was towed to Porsgrunn Mechanical Workshop for repairs. Dione was later sunk by British aircraft on 11 April 1945 near Porsgrunn. After the war, the vessel was salvaged and returned to service. It operated under various names and owners until it was scrapped in 1974.
