World War IDS Dronning Maud
DS Dronning Maud was struck by a mine on September 1, 1916, by a mine from the German U-boat UC-1 near Southwold lighthouse. The ship was en route from London via Grimsby to Kem in the White Sea, carrying cement. Three people lost their lives in the shipwreck. (Source: Sjøhistorie.no)
