World War IDS Drot
DS Drot was set on fire by the German U-boat U-96 on November 26, 1917, off Lundy Island. A British patrol boat managed to drive away the U-boat, but the ship later sank. The ship was en route from Baltimore to La Pallice, carrying railway tracks and tobacco. Two people lost their lives in the shipwreck. (Sources: Sjøhistorie.no and Med norsk skib i verdenskrigen)
