World War IDS Egda
DS Egda was torpedoed on January 7, 1918, by the German uboat U-110 in the Irish Sea. The ship was en route from Bergen to Barry via Lerwick. Egda departed Lerwick on January 3 and was torpedoed 15 degrees east of Tuskar Rocks. One person lost his life in the shipwreck, and the survivors were later rescued by other ships.
