World War IDS Egenæs
DS Egenæs was sunk by the German U-boat UC-45 on March 22, 1917. The ship was en route from Haugesund to Hull, carrying fresh herring in boxes. Five people lost their lives in the shipwreck. (Sources: Uboat.net and Med norsk skib i verdenskrigen)
