World War IDS Fantoft
DS Fantoft was struck by a mine on February 9, 1918, by a mine from the German U-boat UC-69 off Belle Island. The ship was en route from Cardiff to Bordeaux, carrying a cargo of coal. Six people lost their lives in the shipwreck. (Source: Sjøhistorie.no)
