World War IDS Gimle
DS Gimle was torpedoed by the German U-boat UB-35 on November 4, 1917, north of Scarborough. The ship was en route from Blyth to Caen, carrying a cargo of coal. One person lost his life in the shipwreck. (Source: Sjøhistorie.no)
