World War IIDS Gunda
SS Gunda was torpedoed on November 19th 1942 by the German U-boat U-181 at the coordinates 2540S and 3353E, outside of Durban. Four Norwegians, one Pole, one Swede, 29 Indians, two Sudanese and one Chinese perished in the sinking. Eight Indian sailors on a raft survived.
