World War IISS Hedrun

The Swedish SS Hedrun was torpedoed on 16 August 1940 by the German U-boat U-48. The vessel was en route from Swansea via Newport, Monmouthshire (United Kingdom), to Rhode Island. Eight lives were lost, including two Norwegians, while twenty-one persons were rescued.
