World War IDS Heidrun
DS Heidrun disappeared in December 1915. The ship departed from Swansea on December 24th, en route to Rouen in France with a cargo of coal. The weather in the channel was stormy at the time. On December 31st, wreckage from the ship was found near Penzance. Sixteen people perished in the wreck. The deceased are commemorated on a gravestone at Church Cove Church in Cornwall.
