World War IIDS Ingerto
SS Ingerto was on a journey as convoy from Clyde to Mobile in ballast. On the 11th of March 1942, in accordance to the convoy instructions, the ship left the convoy. On the 12th of March the ship was torpedoed by the German uboat U-578 in the probable position of 41N, 51W. All of the 32 crew members, including 23 Norwegians perished in the sinking.
